To complete this course, participants must be in good health and have stable personal circumstances to fully focus and dedicate themselves to the training. The training is intended for teaching children ages 3-7 (tots) and ages 8-12 (kids).

Children’s Yoga Training
Foundation Training Module 1.1
- Introduction to yoga and its benefits for children
- Requirements and tips for being an effective children’s yoga teacher
- Accessing your inner child when teaching
- Understanding the importance of a loving and confident relationship with self
- Living in harmony with self and others
- Teaching yoga as a discipline and implementing safe practices in the classroom
- Age-appropriate techniques and developmental milestones for:
- Tots (ages 3-7)
- Kids (ages 7-9)
- Tweens (ages 10-12)
- Structuring a children’s yoga class, including techniques for changing physical, mental, emotional, and energy states
- Using the breath to open a class
- Importance of heart openers
- Practical examples of meditative and energizing breathing exercises
- Warm-up techniques
- Exploring the 38-page card deck and 90-page postures booklet to understand yoga asanas and variations for children
- Using yoga games, imagination, music, and other props to create fun and dynamic children’s yoga classes
- Affirmations, meditations, and visualizations for children’s yoga classes
- Teaching savasana and how to bring relaxation to children
- Creating age-appropriate lesson plans for:
- Tots (ages 3-7)
- Kids (ages 7-9)
- Tweens (ages 10-12)
- Examples of unique and fun lesson plans for each age group
- Index of recommended books, music, meditations, and references
- Invitation to the Yoga4kids graduate community through the Empowerment Membership.
Children’s Yoga Training
Advanced Module Training 1.2
This training is available both online and in-person and focuses on teaching yoga as a discipline and developing psychosocial and interpersonal life skills in children. The curricula cover topics such as self-regulation, the self-sensory system, emotions, and external and internal environmental factors that affect wellbeing. The goal is to create wellbeing programs for children to help them reach their full potential. Through this training, you will learn how to encourage children to adopt a positive and powerful lifestyle through the disciplines and observances of yoga and the language of the heart. Module 2 covers curricula that aim to bring balance to children’s physical, mental, emotional, and energetic states.
These cover the following areas:
- Importance of wellbeing and life skills for children in training
- Self-regulation and how to encourage it in yoga
- Teaching the self-sensory system to children
- Explaining emotions and navigating challenging behaviors with children
- External environmental factors and elements that affect wellbeing
- Internal environment of a child and its impact on wellbeing
- Patanjali’s eight limbs of yoga practice
- Using sound and mantra to self-regulate and soothe children’s nervous systems
- Yoga anatomy: the chakras
- Healthy foods for children
- Teaching correct posture alignment to children
- Examples of age-appropriate annual curricula on wellbeing for children
- Running a successful children’s yoga business
